Dear Members

We have implemented a new point of sale system in the club. As previously communicated, all members who have paid their main club subscriptions by 31 March are entitled to receive a free card. Members who pay after this date will be charged R75.

If you have not done so already, kindly collect your card from the club office.

You card is a debit card. You can either load money onto your card at the tills or do a deposit/EFT into the following account:

When doing a deposit/EFT into our account, please remember to use your Surname and Initials as a reference. A system will be put in place to ensure that all funds received into this account are loaded onto members cards each business day. i.e funds received on a Monday will be loaded onto accounts on the Tuesday etc.

From 1 June, we are going to introduce a differentiated pricing structure at our tills – Non-members are going to pay more than card users. Please ensure that you have collected your card from the office before this date. Members who do not wish to pre-load their cards with cash, will still enjoy the member pricing by swiping their card and paying cash to the barman for each purchase.

When implementing the new pricing structure, we have decided to give something back to our members by discounting pricing from the current price on certain lines – for example, the price of a tot of spirits is going to be reduced by 50 cents, a quart of beer/cider by R1 and a pint of beer/cider by 50c.

There will not be any pricing differentiation on chips and cool drinks as we deemed this to be unfair to children who play squash etc at the club.

The one proviso which your committee set to discounting current pricing to members was that we maintain our gross profit levels from the bar. This revenue source is vital to the continued financial well-being of your club. We will thus be closely monitoring our GP% from the bar. The committee thus reserves the right to reduce the discounting should we see a decline in the GP. We are pretty confident that this will not be necessary.
